Confident Smile – A testimonial

Sarah, aged 23 had not been to the dentist for 4 years. She really wanted to go as had an issue with a tooth at the front of her mouth and was so self-conscious that she was putting her hand to her mouth when speaking or smiling. This was affecting her self-confidence. The thought of going to the dentist had her shaking, tense, anxious, her hands sweating. The last time she was there she thought she felt pain even thought she had an anaesthetic and panicked when the dentist just wanted to look in her mouth. She had also made appointments that she had to cancel because of her terror. In our consultation, before the session, we discussed the physical feelings of this fear, where she thought it came from, when was it at its worst and were any other times/situations in her life when she felt this way. I explained how the sub-conscious mind worked and put her at ease before the session. In the sessions we dealt with the event where the fear originated and the other instances in her life which reinforced that fear which allowed her to feel calm and relaxed. After the sessions the idea of going to the dentist held no fear for her and she was looking forward to getting her teeth sorted. Sarah contacted me a few weeks later, having been to the dentist, to let me know that she is now smiling confidently and that she also feels more positive in all areas of her life.
